Establishing and evolving online strategies and standards

Digital Wave® has worked with Thomas Jefferson University for 15 years, helping build out and maintain their Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) site. We have worked alongside their team to provide development support through multiple redesigns, as well as meet regularly to provide strategy, AEM development, regular user research and testing, and content support, that’s given us an in-depth knowledge and history with their site. By integrating into their team and working closely on a continuing basis, we’ve helped them evolve and maintain their university website to meet changing user expectations and needs.

In addition to regular working sessions and requests, we’ve undertaken larger efforts that have shaped the Jefferson.edu presence.

Jefferson 200 Bicentennial Site

We worked with Jefferson to create an engaging web experience to celebrate and showcase the university’s rich history of excellence in education, healthcare, and their commitment to improve lives in the Philadelphia community and around the world. We conducted research, discovery, and multiple rounds of ideation to come to a vision for how to display the past and future of Jefferson in one experience. We defined an experience that focused on the stories of people, and we provided extensive writing support and population to bring the site to life in time for the campaign launch in January 2024.

Site Reskin

Following the Bicentennial site launch, we extended the design direction of that site to reskin the entire Jefferson.edu web presence, bringing the whole website forward. Using our extensive understanding of the Jefferson AEM environment, we looked at every component and updated each to create a new experience without costly content migration or extensive redevelopment. Our designers and developers worked closely with the Jefferson team to create a new, unified environment.

Research Magazine

While in the midst of the full site reskin, we were asked to create an engaging web interface to promote Jefferson’s annual research magazine. We adapted the new style of the Reskin to the functionality we built for the Bicentennial microsite, creating a hybrid experience that celebrates and highlights Jefferson’s research.

Nexus Migration

Jefferson asked us to help port their WordPress news site into their AEM environment. We wrote and tested code to port all of the content, images, tags, and categories to fit into the new framework. The end result was a fleshed out news section built in AEM that better integrated with the Jefferson.edu experience for users and that can leverage the capabilities of the full site.
